Community Projects

Garden maintenance and window cleaning at Abbeyfield House in Dingley Village is an annual event and is also a great social day where Rotarians, partners and friends come together to wash windows and chat to the residents.  This is then followed by a BBQ. It’s always a great day of fun.

At a recent working bee the members of the Rotary Club of Dingley Village, together with their partners volunteered their services by rolling up their sleeves to lend a hand to the Abbeyfield Society in Dingley Village.  Abbeyfield in Dingley Village is a purpose built, bed-sit style accommodation home for older residents.  Abbeyfield has accommodation for 10 residents and provides home cooked meals and a homely atmosphere.

Rotary Club President Alistair Law said ‘Our members and partners look forward to this annual working bee as a means of connecting with local residents. We wash windows inside and out and clean gutters’. Alistair went on to say that ‘you would think these jobs would be a chore but our members actually have fun. We also get a chance to chat with the residents at Abbeyfield.’
